Jim Davis grew up in Greenwich, London where he completed a 5 year program in Fine Carpentry and Cabinet Making with the London Institute of City and Guilds. After a few years backpacking and working around the world, he came to New York to teach woodworking and waterskiing at a Catskills summer camp. One weekend he traveled downstate, saw the NYC skyline, and fell in love with the city. He decided to build his carpentry and contracting career in the city, where he lived until he and his wife decided to return to the Catskills to raise their daughter in the countryside.

Jim specializes in fine cabinetry and woodwork, but has working knowledge of many aspects of renovations and can wear different hats, from general contractor to design consultant. He strives to build a strong relationship with clients -- most of his work has been from referrals or repeat business -- bringing excellent communication, creativity, and craftsmanship to each project, regardless of its size.
